Flora is leading a new recreational netball and dance club on Wednesday evenings at The Albert for women 16+ looking to get (back) into the game, into their bodies, and into dancing. Every wednesday in May, 7-8.30pm 1.5.13 8.5.13 15.5.13 22.5.13 27.5.13 Each week we will warm up together, work on our fitness and practise netball skills and drills, play a game, and do some full-bodied dancing before warming down. The sequence in which we do these things will vary week to week. Bring trainers and make sure your nails are not long (can be dangerous during play). Photo Moreno Solinas"][/caption] Hiru is delighted to be moving into THE ALBERT, a meanwhile project in Queen's Park, London, that provides space for experimental projects and community well-being. The space will be launching officially on Thursday 31 January. From 12pm to 12am the whole site will open to the public. Studio- and non-studio-based people will be showing work, organising taster sessions and arranging interesting ways of viewing or experiencing how they work and what they do. As resident performers in the building, Hiru will be preparing various contributions to the day including a rolling lunchtime improvisation sharing in the sports hall, a taster Netball Club session, and some performance in the evening show at THE ALBERT No.1. More news coming soon.On Thursday 17 & Friday 18 January Hiru's Charlie Ashwell, Jamila Johnson-Small, Eleanor Sikorski & Flora Wellesley Wesley will be performing at the Lilian Baylis Theatre alongside other BELLYFLOP contributors and selected guests. BELLYFLOP Magazine has curated two nights of performance, jointly entitled The BELLY of the Beast, for Sadler's Wells' first Wild Card. Jamila will be performing in two pieces: William William, made in collaboration with Mira Kautto, and 'O' made in collaboration with Alexandrina Hemsley; Flora will be improvising a solo, Sorbet du Soir; Charlie will be performing Improvisation alongside Seke Chimutengwende; and Ellie will be debuting her latest work, Cake, as a late night show in the bar.
